Board Builder app for iPhone and iPad

Board Builder is a simple to use app for the purpose of building choice boards, albums, if/then scenarios, or lesson plans for individuals with autism, speech disabilities or delays, communication difficulties, cognitive impairment, or brain injury victims.

Customize boards by arranging photos that the individual will recognize. Boards can then be saved and easily edited. The app is highly configurable to present an environment best suited to the individual’s needs. Maximum number of items per board can be modified on the options screen – each board can be scrolled to the right and left for more pictures.

Pictures can be taken on the fly or imported. You can name and record your voice for each item. A familiar recorded voice reinforces the item chosen and the written label teaches sight-reading.

This app can be used to replace picture boards, picture books, or expensive augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices. No more hours spent putting together picture icons only to have them lost or destroyed.

This can be used by ABA, speech, or occupational therapists to teach discrimination or matching, enhance scanning capabilities, and help improve speech and memory. It’s a positive way to get the individual motivated in a cause and effect fashion.
